Overview
of GRM
Software
The GRM Software is available for Windows 98/2000/NT/XP.
Objectives
The purpose of GRM is to give a tool to optimise the hydrological
regime in terms of the various needs by the different groundwater users
of a water supply area.
Every groundwater abstraction is an antropogenic interference of the
natural water system. Because of the justified claim on a sustainable
water supply the management of groundwater resources is an essential
task. With GRM, an objective tool is available to incorporate the
different requirements of the groundwater users. There will always be
an area of conflict, but the task is the sustainable use of the water
available. GRM is an optimising tool, on the basis of selected
assesment values (in the field of Ecology,Economy and Water
Management), which makes it possible to evaluate the influence of the
components on the water regime. Target is to provide values for the
management of a water system as an recommendation, so that in the end
all groundwater users together optain an optimum.
Groundwater tables can be "controlled" in wetlands, in agricultural
areas or in aride areas. It is also possible to optimise the water
supply when different raw water qualities are experienced.
